Power Moves to Power Movement

This screenshot is an excerpt of the Power Moves conversation with Poet Maya Angelou and Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton. It was put together by Essence in 1998. I refer to it often. Their words remind me that we use power according to how we acknowledge it within ourselves. Black women (and men) have layered filaments of power filled with the potential to be amplified for greatness, when we come together. I am blessed. You are blessed. We can turn power moves into a power movement. Let’s link and make magic!

Also, I’d love to read and hear your thoughts on their conversation. I highlighted a part of it but you should check out the full published conversation.
